One Pot Meatball Spaghetti Bake

Ingredients:
Tomato Sauce
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1/2 c. Spanish onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. garlic, minced
- 28 oz. can, whole San Marzano tomatoes
- 1/4 c. basil, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
Spaghetti Bake
- 12 oz. GoodWheat Spaghetti
- 10 oz. cooked mini meatballs
- 3 c. mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 c. basil, chopped
How to Make:
Step 1.
- Cook pasta according to directions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2.
- Preheat oven to 350F.
Step 3.
- Add the olive oil and onions to a saucepot, and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or until the onions are soft and translucent. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 4.
- Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, and salt. Stir to combine.
Step 5.
- Cover pot, allow sauce to come to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, and let simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 6.
- Fold in chopped basil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 7.
- Add reserved pasta and meatballs and stir. Layer 2½ cups mozzarella cheese with pasta mixture into a greased casserole dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.
Step 8.
- Bake for 20 minutes, then broil for 5 minutes.
Step 9.
- Plate. Garnish with chopped basil.
