Turkey Bolognese
Ingredients:
Turkey Bolognese
- 16oz GoodWheat Penne Pasta
- 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1 lb. Ground Turkey
- 2 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Black Pepper, freshly ground
- 1 qt. Marinara Sauce
- 1/2 c. Parmesan, grated
- Basil, fresh
Marinara Sauce
- 1/4 c. Olive Oil
- 1/2 Onion, Spanish, chopped
- 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced
- 28oz Tomatoes, whole, San Marzano, hand crushed
- 1/4 c. Basil, fresh, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. Sugar, granulated
- 1 Tbsp. Salt, kosher
How to Make:
Step 1.
Add the olive oil and onions to a sauce pot and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or until the onions are soft and translucent. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 2.
Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, and salt. Stir to combine.
Step 3.
Cover the pot, allow the pot to come to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low, and let simmer for 35 to 40 minutes.
Step 4.
Fold in chopped basil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 5.
Cook GoodWheat pasta according to the directions on the package. Drain and set aside.
Step 6.
Over medium heat, add olive oil to a medium sized pot and sauté ground turkey until cooked through.
Step 7.
Add marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.
Step 8.
Add cooked penne and toss until sauce sticks to noodles and is hot.
Step 9.
Garnish with grated Parmesan and fresh basil leaves.
